Our mission is to provide thoughtful, insightful and differentiated research so that our clients can make informed investment decisions. Washington Capital Group employs a bottom-up, fundamental investment approach focusing on stocks of companies that are often under-researched or misunderstood and/or selling at a discount to their ‘private transaction value’ (the price an acquirer would pay to buy the company in its entirety). We search for companies selling at or below their asset value … with attractive risk/reward profiles … and provided the comparison of downside risk to upside target is compelling – an investment in the company is sanctioned.

Our Equity Research team is lead by analysts researching  100’s of companies across  major investing sectors like Energy;  Materials (Metals & Mining);  Consumer Cyclical;  Healthcare (Biotechnical);  Financial Institutions;   Industrials;  and Technology, Telecom  & Internet. Our coverage encompasses roughly  50% of the S&P 500 by market cap, and is evenly balanced among large, mid, and small-cap companies. As a result, Washington Capital Group equity research continues to be an important product for our retail, institutional, and corporate clients.

Philosophically, Washington Capital Group’s overall investment objective is to create a portfolio of stocks with extraordinary risk/reward profiles designed to limit risk to invested capital and leading to the opportunity for outsized returns.
